Tesla (TSLA) stock was the top gainer on the S&P 500 on Tuesday as the Magnificent Seven tech giants rose on Christmas Eve.
The company’s stock ended the day up more than 7%, outperforming Super Micro Computers (SMCI), which rose about 6%, and was the best performer among the benchmark indexes.
The Santa Claus rally period began ahead of tomorrow’s holiday, and other “Mag 7” stocks also rose on this day, which was a shortened holiday trading period. All major indexes rose today, led by the NASDAQ Composite Index.
Amazon.com (AMZN) rose 1.8%, the biggest gainer among the rest of the Magnificent Seven. Meta Platforms (META) increased by 1.3%. Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), and Alphabet (GOOGL) also rose.
All 11 sectors of the S&P 500 rose today.
